Shiraz Viognier 2024

Our 2024 Shiraz Viognier is a new red blend for Kelman made with our 2024 hand picked Shiraz grape which enjoyed time to age before bottling as a blend with a small percentage of white Viognier grapes for enhanced nose, colour and a silkier texture.

Colour: Deep garnet

Nose: Immediately displays dense aromas of dark fruits.  Ripe black cherries are complemented by notes of tar and cedar, adding depth and complexity.

Palate: Vibrant, with an upfront pop of fresh cherry.  Through the mid palate, more complex flavours of dried orange rind and sweet spice emerge.  The tannins are soft and pillowy, with a hint of dark chocolate bitterness on the finish.

Food Pairings: This wine can handle big flavours like lamb shanks, kangaroo, osso bucco and veal scallopini, as well as tomato-based pasta sauces.  Try with blue or strong cheeses, pizza or especially the backyard BBQ.
